El Paso Electric offers full-service electrical contracting tailored to the needs of your project. We are proud to be one of the oldest electrical contracting firms in the Pikes Peak region, and we are officially certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
El Paso Electric was established in 1919 by Dudley Elkins, Sr., in Colorado Springs, CO. As his sons grew and joined the business, the business name was changed to El Paso Electric Elkins & Sons. The three sons continued to operate the business for several years. The youngest and last surviving son, Henry Elkins, changed the name to El Paso Electric Company in the mid-1980s.
Justin Dixon, Henry Elkins' grandson and Dudley's great-grandson, took over the business in 2004. Justin had grown up in the family business and spent many summers helping his grandfather. Justin and his wife Melissa grew the business and team of electricians for twenty years.
In 2024, Justin and Melissa transferred ownership to Chuck Dokmo. Chuck grew up in Colorado Springs and studied electrical engineering. His 20+ year career spans military service and corporate leadership roles in operations and technology across multiple multiple industries. Chuck is honored to steward El Paso Electric's legacy into the next season.
